  About Obsession Publishing Co.

Robert Heindel - Glitter GirlsObsession Publishing, now located in North Norfolk (England) after being London based at The Red Dot Gallery, has published Fine Art Prints for nearly twenty years. Originally established in association with The Stable Gallery during the mid 1980’s the company was named The Obsession of Dance. The reason for the illustrious title was because it was, and remains, the official publisher of works by Robert Heindel the American Artist famous for his sketches and paintings of dance and ballet. Robert Heindel’s apparent obsession of dance was sparked by chance tickets to the ballet, his first experience was to see Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev in performance - from that point he was seized by dance and dancers.

Robert Heindel - Protecting Veil 10As Robert Heindel’s reputation grew throughout Europe and USA so he enjoyed access to many of the leading ballet and dance companies, these include; The Royal Ballet from which his Darcey Bussell works developed, American Ballet Theatre and more recently Birmingham Royal Ballet. The latter provided him with much inspiration by virtue of the David Bintley ballets including Carmina Burana and The Protecting Veil.

Robert Heindel - Yellow StripesObsession of Dance became a by-line for his high profile exhibitions staged in The Royal Opera House, The Royal Festival Hall, The Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo and The Gallery at The Lincoln Center, New York. With his work in the collection of The National Portrait Gallery (London) and those of many corporate bodies, Robert Heindel has also enjoyed the patronage of such private collectors as Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, the late Princess Diana and many others.

During the past two decades Obsession Publishing has produced Robert Heindel Limited Edition Prints with great success. It also works closely with galleries staging exhibitions of Robert Heindel original paintings; these include The Halcyon Gallery in London, Obsession of Art in NL and Art Obsession Inc. in Japan. As a result of the success of Robert Heindel further Fine Artists have been added to the portfolio. As a result, we changed our UK trading name from The Obsession of Dance to Obsession Publishing hoping this would reflect better what we actually do!

Cecil Rice - The SaluteThe new artists include Cecil Rice whose beautiful watercolours of Venice Italy have earned him a considerable reputation. Titles in the current collection include images from The Grand Canal and St. Marks Square as well as those from Italy’s Tuscan landscape. The Cecil Rice silkscreens (or serigraph prints as they are termed in USA) are lively and imaginative. Cecil Rice declares his inspirations as being Turner Paintings and those of Bernhard Vogel.

Jeff Cornell - RSVP IJeff Cornell is another addition - American Artist Cornell creates original pastel works, sensitive female studies, nude studies, and the occasional still life. Selected pieces are again published, mainly as silkscreen prints.

John Bond - Three FiguresJohn Bond is an artist published for a number of years - the John Bond works are generally of English Landscapes with the addition of a single figure or figures which bring a narrative. Working with John’s original oil paintings, images are reproduced as Limited Edition Prints.
